Customer Interviews No. 3

1) Describe your interviewing strategy. This time I stopped people who were looking at clothes to purchase.  I asked questions about how often they purchase new clothes, where they tend to shop, and if quality, price or style is more important to them. I also asked one if a customizable option would be something she would be interested in.
 2) Conduct the interviews. One of the interviews incudes two ladies at once, so there are four videos with five interviews.
3) Reflect on what you learned. I expected younger people to be more likely to purchase online, but with this group it was the middle aged women who shopped online the most. The also seemed the most willing to pay more for their clothing than the younger ladies or the older couple. Perhaps this is because the middle aged demographic is more financially stable than younger people starting out, or older people on a fixed income? Would love to do a large focus group to get more accurate information than what I have here.

  1. enjoyed watching the videos.. did you have difficulties finding people to interview? i know a lot of others are shy to ask total strangers questions but you had no problem. That outgoing personality type will serve you well in life and will lead you to great success. Excited to see how the rest of the semester works out for you. Good luck!

  3. You did a great job engaging your interviewees. You could see right from the start that they were comfortable talking with you, which promotes more honest insight when giving answers. I also like how you added some of you own small talk with them so the interview played more like a conversation and less like a sterile, rigid interview. I hope the data you received is helpful in continuing development of your venture. Did you explain before or after what your idea is and why you were interviewing them? Good luck moving forward.

  4. Hey Zoe,
I really enjoyed seeing your interviews unfold with your customers. I think you had a great mix of ladies who represented different customer perspectives. I did notice that the majority of your customers interviewed were speaking to discount/value priced retailers. With this in mind, I would say that customers are obsessed with fast fashion like H&M, Zarra, and Forever 21. I think if you can strike a balance between the quality at the right price point you'll keep a leg up on competitors. I always love seeing your interviews because you do a great job being engaged with your customers. I can't wait to see how your idea develops.
