The last time I did this my video as at an odd angle because
I waited until the last minute and did not set up well. This was noted by those
who commented on my blog. Since presentation is important, I took a better
video of myself this time while using the same speech since it was not critiqued
in any way. I did receive feedback that the entire premise of the idea may not be good because fashion is so hard to get into, but I am not letting that deter me from pursuing this idea at least within the confines of this class. I personally tried to be less nervous and a little more comfortable this time
as well.
On the feedback for the feedback I'd say that you got the angle right and that you were certainly not nervous :) Well done there. The idea is a little ambiguous though. I'm driven towards the idea of a 'stitch fix' or 'trunk club' type market; which is pretty high end. That said I'm left after your pitch asking myself, "what sets you apart from them?" I would never say don't get into the market (challenge yourself!) but I would ask why should I buy from you and not the 'other guy?'
ReplyDeleteHi Zoe! I like that you took the feedback from your last pitch seriously, it definitely paid off. I like the concept of your idea; you made it very clear to me that this is a fashion brand that is tailored to the customer's personal style. Our pitches are quite different, mine is more of a skit style, check it out: http://lfrancie.blogspot.com/2016/02/elevator-pitch-no-2.html
ReplyDeleteZoe, great video. In my opinion there was nothing wrong with your pitch at all. I enjoyed the distance you had from the camera, the professionalism you had with the pitch, and the ideas you put forward. ReplyDeleteHello Zoe,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your video. You came across as very confident, and you really got me involved in your idea with your delivery, which is something that I worked to include in my pitch. Your closing was great, as I am sure that it would get your target market excited about buying into your idea. I would only add that perhaps showing a product of yours during the pitch may help your audience get a better idea of what your are offering, since your idea is very broad in scope and may be difficult for some people to uniquely identify.

Great video, but the only problem I can see is that there are already a bunch of stores open that offer millions of different clothing options, then again I am a male and I have almost no experience with fashion (plus I'm colorblind).
